Hi forum members,

Question from a newbie...just wondering if anybody has had success in using the X10 DS10A door/window sensor with HG...

The reason I am asking is because I believe that the DS10A also uses RF to communicate...however, each time I activate/trigger my DS10A, HG does not seem to "see" the RF raw data coming from the sensor...

I know that the CM15A interface I use, connected to HG, is working, because I also  have a X10 RF motion detector, and each time I trigger/activate it, HG "sees" it and shows me the raw RF data...

Any thoughts/guesses on what I might be doing wrong ?
Thanks !
Gus

The DS10A is a security sensor which works a little different than a standard motion sensor (MS16A for example).  There are security motion sensors as well which will work similar to the door/window sensor.  I do not know what the difference between these types is as far as implementation, but I know that they don't get set up the same in ActiveHome Pro so I have to assume that it would need to be set up slightly different in HG.

I did see something about using these sensors with the Security program within HG, so you might look there first.

I use DS10's via the W800RF receiver.  I have virtual devices set up to store the status when an open or close event is received.

I have not really used the Virtual Modules, but I'm not sure that would work exactly as desired.  If you have multiple DS10A's installed, wouldn't they all send the same RF command?  How would HG know which one was sending ON or OFF?  I have a bunch of these but have never really used them since the range was RF nowhere near what I needed.
