Hi all, am new here and just setting up, but having troubling understanding the Philips Hue set-up.
Instructions say to create a new username on the Developers Site for the username Homegenie.
It would appear the instructions are outdated too as the link in the set-up part of HG does not exist.
The Hue site gives instructions to create a "number" username, but I do not understand at all the parameters it is saying to use to even create the new user:
Address http://<bridge ip address>/api
Body {"devicetype":"my_hue_app#iphone peter"}
Method POST
http://www.developers.meethue.com/documentation/getting-started The Body part is an example, but what I am I supposed to be entering there?
The address bit I understand, but am not finding it all "straight-forward and easy" as described, as this part is very unclear to me.
Has anyone done this recently and can guide me as to what to put in this "Body" part so that the system can find / connect to my hue lights.
