Title: Raspberry Pi
Post by: Zer0 on March 15, 2015, 11:36:58 PM
I have a Raspberry Pi with the RazBerry Z-Wave Module.
And I am having trouble getting HomeGenie to work.

It is running 2015-02-16-raspbian-wheezy image.
Followed the instruction on the download page and ran the following commands:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gdebi-core
sudo gdebi homegenie-beta_1.00.r482_all.deb

I am able to browse to http://<linux_box_address>/

Went to Configure -> Settings
Enabled ZWave Interface Options
Selected /dev/ttyAMA0 as device port
Click on Add Node and then I turned on and off the z-wave light switch
I get the error message "timed out - operation failed"

What do I need to do to get HomeGenie to work?

Did you already configure RPi like explained in the following article?
http://www.raspberrypi-spy.co.uk/2013/12/free-your-raspberry-pi-serial-port/ (http://www.raspberrypi-spy.co.uk/2013/12/free-your-raspberry-pi-serial-port/)

I completed the steps outlined in that link

Now when I go to Configure -> Settings then under ZWave Common Tasks -> Discovery,
The discovery results show more output (see below).

But if I click on Add Node, it stills times out.

How do I add the z-wave lights switch that I have?

----------------------------
ZWave Discovery

* Discovery Complete
* Updated node 5
* Updated node 4
* Updated node 3
* Updated node 2
* Updated node 1
* Discovery Started

Thank you so much!
I got my lights to turn on and off!

Is there a list of compatible devices that HomeGenie supports?
Now that I got the lights working, I want to buy other devices such as: door locks, door/window sensors ,etc
