I have been using email to send notification of an IP address change (among other tasks) since mid-2014. At some point, email notification stopped. It appears that at some point, HG stopped working.
Troubleshooting:
The various threads (including those listed above) indicate that other people are having the same issue. Email functioned at one point, but simply updating HG caused it to stop functioning. I tried to update certificates this week but something went wrong and I broke mono sufficiently that I could not fix it. Restoring a backup image, I found that running r478 leaves email functioning perfectly. I know that r491 (the version I was running prior to the crash) did not function.
So, what commands need to be run to fix things? I tried the various suggestions in the above threads and those linked from them and was only able to break my installation. I am not a Linux expert but can follow directions or research as needed given some suggestions of where to get started. If there was a command-by-command guide, I think that would be a very good thing to have posted somewhere here for others to follow.
