Title: Remote Access with dataplicity
Post by: BarryP on September 01, 2016, 10:50:05 AM
Hi Folks,
I have been accessing HG for a while using a ddns service along with port-forwarding at the router.
this works fine with the HG app for Android & a browser from in & outside the network.
I have recently started using a mobile internet service for home & do not get an internet ip at the router any longer.
I have signed up for dataplicity to get remote access to my RPI as port forwarding is no longer an option.
I can access HG now with a link   -Https://My_Rpi_ID.dataplicity.io  from a browser
BUT I can not use that address with the HG android app .

Any idea's on how I can get this working ?
Regards
Barry

Hi BarryP,

To get homegenie working with dataplicity you go to settings and put:

My_Rpi_ID.dataplicity.io as your homegenie service address (without https://)

and check both of the boxes:

Use SSL and Accept all certs
