Hello,  Ive been using HG on Ubuntu but I'd like to repurpose and older netbook to run HG and Ubuntu is too large to fit on that thing.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a distribution that might be easy to get up and running on a netbook and yet have what I need to run HG?

Thanks!!

Personally if you want to continue the Ubuntu experience I'd recommend Ubuntu Mate. It's definitely the way to go Ubuntu wise. Another plus would be it runs comfortably on a Raspberry PI 3.

I completely agree that Ubuntu has become so bloated it's nearly unusable for the ordinary man/woman on the street. The eye candy desktop has become so resource hungry as to render it useless on all but the highest spec machines. What a waste running such a slick application like HG on a monster like that. I could liken it to a courier company having a fleet of Ferraris to deliver parcels. Gets the job done but complete overkill.
