Title: Adafruit 24 channel PWM LED driver
Post by: Boeky on July 24, 2014, 11:13:25 PM
Hi Gene,

You already did a great job to make the MCP23017 work with homegenie to create a lot of extra digital out- and inputs.

However there is one thing that is still missing in homegenie and that's an easy way to control rgb led strips.

Is there a possibility to get the Adafruit 24 channel PWM driver (http://www.adafruit.com/product/1429 (http://www.adafruit.com/product/1429)) to work with homegenie?
With this affordable little print it is possible to control up to 8 rgb ledstrips or 24 one-channel strips using a seperate power supply. It uses an SPI connection and there is already an adafruit driver for it...
I might wanne try to built something myself but I cannot find a lot of information about SPI in homegenie...

This could be a usefull improvement for many users of homegenie.

Thanks,
Christophe.
