I've looked around in the GUI but can't locate a way to remotely reboot the system or restart the HG service.  I'm not sure that reboot is a good feature to implement, but allowing the service to be restarted seems like a good thing.  Ideally this would never be needed.  I was thinking that restarting the service might help the statistics issue if the database were broken for some reason, but perhaps that's not true.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question, but you can restart HomeGenie service via the Maintenance screen. (At least I can on the Pi, don't know if it's also available on other systems.)

You can find it in Configure -> Maintenance -> System Options
