Hello all!

let´s see if somebody is able to help me.

I have been trying to play around the uPNP feature of HG but no luck till now, let me explain.

First thing i do is going to Configure-Groups and Modules and in the uPNP button i toggle it to have it in blue, then it seems to be activated and if i go back to home or do anything else and go again to configuration the button remains activated but if i open a new webrowser tab and refresh it, it appears deactivated and the button in grey.

I do not know why is not allowing me to activate it, is like it is really trying to but at the end it fails and of course if i try to add a upnp device there is no menu option for that in the modules.

any clue??

Yes, it's working here. And I'm using to browse Windows Media Sharing service and play to Windows Media Player/XBMC.

Cheers,
g.

I can confirm it's working for me in the exact same configuration. I can even control my Denon receiver. Are you sure that you are not blocking IP-ports on your router?

Cheers

hello all,

what happends is that when i try to add a module, the option for adding protocols.uPnP is not apearing in the pop up menu, that is why i think is not activating in the main control page when i switch it on, i will try a new fresh install again and let you know.

thanks

Maybe this helps

- turn on upnp in configure gets you the raspberry as entry in the modules list, at least this one should show up
- other devices are detected by HG after a while, turning them from standby to power on helps for AV Receivers
- some devices claim to be upnp capable, but they just have a thin-client to connect to servers, these do not show up on my system, too
- devices detected get a long hexadecimal identifier in the add modules widget

cheers

Hi Jens,

that is the problem, it doesn´t sow up, not even a single line or any trace of uPnP in the list, that is why i say there is a problem activating it on the main config screen.

i have no time this week but asap i will try to work on it and see where is the problem, i will write up a full description of my install process so maybe you can identify where is my fault.

thanks again

Ok, i updated and made a fresh install with the latest raspberry bild and now everything seems to be ok.

FYI: after i reinstall everything i had hell of a time with my configuration to detect all uPNP renders, i had 2 Rpi with Raspbmc install and only one was being detected at a time, it was after surfing the web i found that if you have few xbmc on the same network be sure not to have clone the settings as it will result of cloning also the unique dhcp identification number which will lead to all kind of troubles i had.

cheers and thanks for the support
