I have been running v1.0-Beta.493 for some time now on a Windows 10 laptop. I have created and tested a backup of my configuration. I have used it several times when reinstalling v493 and it works correctly.

I have downloaded and tried v495, 500, 512 and 521 --they all load in correctly and function "out of the box."
My problem is that when I try to load in my v493 saved configuration file it never works. I never get the "restore configuration" window. When I want to view the jsan file and "view" the command window during the update process it is always blank.

Any suggestions that point me in the direction of a solution would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Alan

I was on v493 and did a clean install for v515 (this is on a raspberry pi 2) and the restore was successful.  Not sure if that helps any - it could be a Windows thing, a fresh install thing, or there might be an app that is causing your restore to fail.  Maybe try a backup/restore of a single well known app and see if that works.

Just to complete the story: I have since successfully upgraded to v517 (no restore required) and it's working fine.

Good luck.

Thanks for the tips. However--even when I do a clean v521 install and then do a backup of that configuration I cannot use the zip file to restore.

The only version that restores successfully for me is v493.

By the way i am making great use of the email program you uploaded. Thank you again.

Problem is solved---
I now have the backup from r493 working in r525. I had to switch from Windows Explorer to Edge in Windows 10.

HG running in Explorer will not work for me in Windows 10 on anything higher than r493.

Thank you Gene for suggesting r525.

All is well ---for now :)
