hello, I installed HG version 1.00 beta r375 on a linux debian7.
I have a zwave AeonLab Stick v2 with two Switch AeoTec MicroSmart Energy G2.
The two AoeTec MicroSmart are discovered with node4 and node5.
I creaed a group module called "Cuisine" and I added them to this group. I setup both switch as "light" (lumiere in my French version). The setting show light when I click on "update the module". But if I click on return to go out of Group & Module, then I come back to this group "Cuisine", both device node4 and node5 revert back to Zwave node4 and Zwave node5 with the "Prise de courant" type (the default type when you add a Zwave device). Moreover the name of the device are reset to empty.
Can you help me to ?
1. set my zwave device to "lumiere" instead of "prise de courant"
2. change the name of my zwave device
I installed HG on a windows W8 with the same materiel (Stick v2 and the two Aeotec switch) and was able to use the type "lumiere" and change the name of the device.

I'm fairly new to Linux but it sounds to me like you don't have permission(s) to write to the file, that would be my first guess.

kiwi799, did you try to reboot HG after your "update the module" ?
/etc/init.d/homegenie restartAnd to follow James, can you please do an :
ls -lin your HG directory please ?

I did reboot HG after "update the module", but it still revert back to Zwave switch.

I also notice that in the menu "configurer->scenarios" there is no program list in any scenarios folder. For example in "configurer->scenarios->scenes" I should find the program lists "group light on", "group light off", "Ping me at home",...
But on linux HG "configurer->scenarios->scenes" is empty.

Your right on HG dir seems good.
Your empty scenario doesn't sound good. did you try to install HG again ?

I think this is a mono version issue. I'll look back at my issues to see the fix....
Edit:
All I can find on my old posts: after upgrading to 343 I could not rename a z-wave switch. Reverting Newtonsoft.Json.dll back to the 327 version I had around fixed the issue on Ubuntu 12.04.4 LTS (GNU/Linux 3.2.0-59-generic-pae i686)
But I do not think that is really the fix anymore. Did you install sudo apt-get install libmono-system-web4.0-cil ?

Yes I tried to reinstall HG on Debian7, Debian6, Ubuntu12. And all have the same issue.
My installation method is:
1. install OS.
2. sudo apt-get install gdebi
3. sudo gdebi homegenie-beta_1.00.374_all.deb

When I try "sudo apt-get install libmono-system-web4.0-cil" I have a message saying that it is already in the latest version. So no I did not install it.
I also tried "sudo apt-get install mono-complete",it installed successfully. But HG has the same issue.

It may be issue with version of Mono.
My problem is solved by using Ubuntu Server 14.
