Internet options -> Security -> "Local intranet" -> Sites -> disable all the checkboxes there.

Then reload http://<netBIOSname>/ and see if the zone changed to internet.

If it did, and it works, I guess you can just add manual exceptions via "Advanced" to add sites/locations you need in the intranet zone.

OK, so it works when I disable those checkboxes, but I don't think I'll use this workaround; it will probably break something else on the server (e.g. WHS 2011, Plex or MB3). I'll just use the explicit IP address when accessing the HG web pages. Thanks anyway.
