Did you exclude the modules first from your previous controller? For the Aeon-Labs S2 stick a single push on the button puts it in inclusion mode (flashes like once a second), and holding button down for 3+ seconds puts it in exclusion mode (flashes like 3x a second). If you have a different controller, consult its manual.
The inclusion/exclusion commands can also be controlled from within HomeGenie if the controller allows for it.
Follow the instructions on your Z-Wave modules on how to comply with the inclusion/exclusion command, which usually consists of pushing a little Z-Wave button on it.
Once excluded (like a reset), then you can try to include it again.
In most cases you can exclude a module on a different controller, but ideally you do this on the original controller configuration before you add it to your HomeGenie one.
Factory reset of a controller is not yet supported by HomeGenie, so I still have a couple of ghost modules on my Aeon-Labs S2 controller, but there is an open thread on the forum for that, and there are other programs that can be used till then.
