While the RPI is running there is a delay of about 30 seconds between change in movement or light and what is displayed on screen. I've adjusted the fps but it still doesn't seem to make any difference. Is there any other settings adjustment I can make to have the display operate in "real time" without that 30 second delay.

I think hg camera driver has very poor performance on Pi when using higher resolutions. Try using a lower resolution.

Seems to be the problem Gene. Dropped the res to 640x400 and the lag is down to 3 seconds.
