Just a thought: would it be possible to - optionally - write HomeGenie's log to syslog instead of the console? For building slightly more complex types of automation, the programs write output to the log which is great for debugging problems down the line. Since HG is running as a service in "production mode", however, it is not possible to get ahold of the log if some weird problem occurs. I could write to a log and rotate the logs, but this requires editing the core HG files and requires manual steps on each update.

Since I have a Synology NAS running in the same network, it'd be easiest if HG could write its log to a syslog service.
