Title: Windows r488 executeable contains virus?
Post by: Cars10 on May 29, 2015, 04:33:59 PM
Yesterday I tried downloading the windows version r488 from source forge  and Norton antivirus quarantined the installer claiming that it contains a BitCoinMiner virus.

Can anyone else confirm?

HG packages are checked against virus total before any upload.
Please submit your downloaded file here:
http://virustotal.com/ (http://virustotal.com/)
and see what it says (you can also share the report results link here).
This is the last scan of the 488 exe:

I think it would be good to move away from SourceForge at some time though, there has been much controversy. I don't trust them.
