Gene- this whole system rocks!  I think this is exactly how a home automation system should work.

Since I put this on my ubunutu server, I have had it lock up twice.   The server displays the message: "Bug: Soft lockup - CPU#5 stuck for 22s! (mono:: 12690)" And it basically crashes the whole server, which is of course a big problem for me.

I'm running homegenie 336 and Mono was the already installed 2.10 on ubuntu 12

I don't know if this will help, but last night I added the beta repository for mono so that now I have 3.2.1

I'm curious if anyone else has had this problem.  It's probably a mono thing, but I'm hoping that it gets resolved because I really want to keep using homegenie!

So far, no more lockups!  Might have been the older Mono (the Ubuntu repository has a fairly old version by default).  Adding the newer mono repository I think might be a good move for ubuntu users.

But it could have been the newer release of HG!  Maybe we'll never know.

I still can't believe that it would even be possible for the mono VM to lock a machine.  I hope in the future that the mono machine isolates problems from the system, more like the JVM.
