My uncle has an multiple sclerosis illness, the type of sclerosis is one of the worst because he only can talk.

In the first stage I only want to implement basic things for example switch on off the lights and blinds.

Another issue is that appliances need and where to buy them.

Personnaly I am using ZWave so. It's have a lot of constructor and it's bi directional transmission.
But cheaper chipset are ZigBee actually.
I don't think it's supported by HG

Yes I am using that one http://www.zwavespain.com/controles/adaptador-aeon as controller
with raspberry pi B+ and HG.

For equipements your reseller is ok. I am not staying in Spain. But not difficult to find many shop from internet. The price are similar. I saw that is spain is a little cheaper. For us the mean prices are 59€90.
