A very good idea... maybe its a good idea too to have all the additions and contributions of Homegenie accomponied with a short instruction what it does and a how to set it up manual..there are many users here who are completely new to home automation and/or programming..now you have to read sometimes dozens of articles to find out how a program works, or should work...
Cheers.. Hans

how about a Wiki? every sensor / device could get its own page and it's a format that most people are familiar with by now

I would like to start with a general basic home setup that we could all configure. Seems all the problems are configuration. I would start with one or two products from each category, so we can have a functioning basic setup. So I'm suggesting a break down as follows:

Camera
Siren
Switch
room entry sensor
window sensor
garage door opener
pet door

We work with one product from each like zwave insteon x10.

Once we all have a reference base can work on things like voice and custom icons and interface.

Hi all,

as Nico suggested wiki could be a good place to share these infos. There are free wiki sites like this one:
www.wiki-site.com/

Btw, user contributed documentation about how to setup things with HG is a great idea.

Cheers,
g.

Ok I'll start a wiki page. But I warning you I have never done it before so it will be a first for me. I would like to see some support for how I should organize so any help would be appreciated. I am going to gather ideas from forum then take a stab in a couple of days.
