I have HG loaded on a Mac Server and it is running well.  I am trying to connect a cm11a module to it to be able to control some X10 devices.  It is connected with a plugable USB/Serial Adapter and the Mac sees the serial port under USB-Serial Controller D when I look at the Mac System report.  The problem seems to be that the cm11a does not show up in HG in the System->Settings->X10 ports dropdown list.  The only option there is cm15 Pro - USB.  But that options shows up whether there is a usb X10 adapter plugged into the Mac or not.  From other posts it seems like the cm11a should work.  Any ideas what might be missing here to get this working?

Thanks in advance for your help!

I am also getting the following in my log files:

2015-09-02T08:41:53.7579870-05:00   HomeAutomation.X10   G12   -   Status.Level   0
2015-09-02T08:41:53.7578870-05:00   HomeGenie.System   Console   StdOut/StdErr redirect   Console.Output   X10 !   at XTenLib.Drivers.CM15.WriteData (System.Byte[] bytesToSend) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
  at XTenLib.XTenManager.SendMessage (System.Byte[] message) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
2015-09-02T08:41:53.7578100-05:00   HomeGenie.System   Console   StdOut/StdErr redirect   Console.Output   X10 ! Object reference not set to an instance of an object
2015-09-02T08:41:53.7576960-05:00   HomeGenie.System   Console   StdOut/StdErr redirect   Console.Output   X10 < 06 53
2015-09-02T08:41:53.7576390-05:00   HomeGenie.System   Console   StdOut/StdErr redirect   Console.Output   X10 !   at XTenLib.Drivers.CM15.WriteData (System.Byte[] bytesToSend) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
  at XTenLib.XTenManager.SendMessage (System.Byte[] message) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0

Seems like the Object reference not being set is the problem but how do I resolve that?  I also have a firecracker that I could try.  How would I make that work on a Mac?  I have connected it to the serial port but it is not recognized either.

Any help would be appreciated as I am very new to this.  Thx

Hi billbrazeal,

latest HomeGenie (r504) has a new option for letting the user specify any custom serial port path.

Chers,
