Title: WU module displaying metric when otherwise configured
Post by: jensc on May 06, 2016, 08:19:21 AM

Am I the only one for whom the Weather Underground module displays metric wind and rain numbers after configuring HG for Fahrenheit (Imperial) measurements?

Might that be an HG issue or a Weather Underground problem?  It has been this way since I first installed HG some time ago.

I think, it depends on your browser language (or other), for example in chrome :

But in HomeGenie interface you can change temp unit from the Maintenance page, under "User Interface".

@nolio,

I have already changed that setting to "Fahrenheit" when installing HG.

My point is that it only changed the temperature display.  The wind speed and rain amounts are still displayed in k/ph and mm, respectively.

Four different browsers have the same problem and even HG+ for Android doesn't get it right either.  That does not point to the browser language as the solution.

Ok you are right... Probably no code in WU program to manage rain and wind.
Did you take a look in the code ?
I will take a look later...

in WU code, you have temperature in °C and °F, but for :

What do you need instead ?

Those of us in North America use "miles per hour" for wind speed and "inches", or fractions thereof, for rain accumulation.  Those are standard Imperial measurements consistent with the use of Fahrenheit for temp.

No solution yet?

Ideas?
